3 Questions You Need to Ask to Do Business on YOUR Terms

Do you want your business to represent you as well as your mission? And do you also want to feel happy about the way you do business? The keys in this article help you accomplish all that – and more!

All heart-centered entrepreneurs have one thing in common:

They want to make a positive difference in the world.

And the ambitious ones, like my clients, and myself, want this difference to be BIG – as big as is possible for them.

Of course, they want to have a life as well.

Sure, they want to reach a lot of people. And yes, they want to make good money (whatever that amount is – that’s different for everyone).

But they don’t want to compromise themselves, their values, or their lifestyle.

Unfortunately it doesn’t always work out that way.

It can be hard to have it all: success, money, fulfillment, a thriving business and a great lifestyle.

Most people aren’t even sure it is possible to have it all – let alone believe that THEY are worthy of having it all!

Don’t get me wrong: I don’t believe in woowooland where the sun always shines and money grows on trees and everybody is loving and nice and smiling and happy-happy-happy all the time.

I’m too realistic and grounded for that. Life and business can be great, but that doesn’t mean there are no challenges, problems, disappointments or overall shitty experiences.

It can get pretty messy sometimes.

That’s part of business and of life.

But I DO believe it’s possible to create a business that supports your ideal lifestyle AND make a Big difference at the same time.

And I believe you owe it to yourself and your clients to take excellent care of yourself first, and to do your utmost to create a business that serves you instead of drains you.

(I’ll share lots of wisdom and practical tips on how to accomplish this in my upcoming book ‘The Art of Divine Selfishness – transforming the world by thinking of YOU’)

Unfortunately, a lot of entrepreneurs do feel drained, overwhelmed, overworked, underpaid and unfulfilled.

I know – I have felt like that many times myself. Most recently in the last couple of months, when I didn’t manage to create enough alone time for myself.

Thankfully I have managed to turn this around by making a lot of decisions and changes in my business, programs and work schedule.

These 3 questions helped me with that.

They can help you get clarity around your business, mission and needs as well.

Question 1:

What wants to be expressed through me?

No, it’s not an easy question to answer.

But this question is absolutely essential. It helps you:

  • Go within yourself, and tap into your own inner wisdom;
  • Connect to your soul purpose, and
  • Connect to that thing that ONLY you can do, that thing you were born and uniquely suited to do.

One or more answers might come up right away, but it will probably take more time than that. Just keep the question in the back of your mind, and see what comes up.

Once the answers come up, start thinking about HOW you can express your purpose in your business:

What services, programs, products etc. could you turn your purpose into?

Question 2:

What do I need to express this purpose in a way that makes me happy?

  • What do you need?
  • How many hours do you want to work per day, week, month and year?
  • What does your ideal client look like? What boundaries do you need?
  • What don’t you want to put up with anymore?

Imagine that ANYTHING is possible, and you can create ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you want, like and need:

What would your business look like then?

Question 3:

What possible pitfalls or obstacles might be in the way of creating this ideal business of yours?

  • What could get in the way of you creating your ideal business? And how can you prevent this from happening or solve it if it does happen?
  • Maybe you need more knowledge, about business models and marketing and overall entrepreneurship. (This was my biggest obstacle when I started my business)
  • You might need more courage. Or boundaries. Or hire your first or second or third assistant.

This week’s transformational action:

  1. Take some time to answer these questions above.
  2. After that, translate your answers into actions.
  3. What do you need to do?

When will you do it?

Create bite size action steps or take a giant leap.

Whatever you do, act upon the insights you gained.

And remember: the action that seems hardest to take, is most likely the one that will yield the most results.

3 Ways to Start an Auto Repossession Business Without a Tow Truck

With auto repossessions at an all-time high, getting into the repo business has never looked more lucrative.  And while you can make up to $500 per repo’ed car, investing in a tow truck isn’t cheap.

The good news is, you probably don’t need a tow truck to start your own repo business.  Here’s 3 ways you can get started in the repo industry on a shoestring budget:

Tip #1 – Partner With A Locksmith and Literally Drive The Repo Cars Away!

Nowadays, finance companies keep key codes on file for every car they own.  The key codes are a “blueprint” that tells locksmiths exactly how to create a key the same as the original.

Even if the bank doesn’t have the key codes, you can find companies online that will supply key codes for any domestic or foreign vehicle in less than an hour.  All you need to give them is the make, model and VIN number.

With your original key in hand, you can have someone follow you to the repo site and you can drive the car away!

Tip #2 – Work From Home and Help Banks Track Down Repo Cars

You don’t need to be a repo man to earn a living in the repossession industry.  You can start out by helping banks or dealerships track down hard-to-find debtors.  This service is called skip-tracing.  And they’re willing to pay big money for it since their cars are worth thousands of dollars.

You can charge $30-$100/hour to provide skip tracing services to banks – or even other repossession companies.  Of course, you’ll need to invest time and money in good training, but it’s well worth it considering you could make $60,000 starting out – without a degree!

Tip #3 – Become A Repo Job Broker

If you don’t like working nights and dealing with confrontational people, you could setup a web site to get repossession job leads in your town, and sell those leads to other repo businesses.  Then, as you gain more experience in the repo industry, you could take on more and more jobs yourself.

While these money-making tips are no substitute for having the right repossession tools, they’ll help you make money to pay for the equipment you’ll need later on!

Business Booster Tips – Enthusiasm – What For?

Do you know why people take the time to listen to you? Or maybe you have noticed that people make excuses not to be around you or they need to suddenly hang up on you? The secret is in what your listener perceives from you – not necessarily what you are saying. Let me explain it to you in very simple words.

Enthusiasm is Catchy:

Having enthusiasm when you talk or write about your family, yourself or your business is key for your listener to want to hear more. It catches your listener’s attention – drawing him or her to you. It is important that you smile when you are talking even if it is through the phone. I guarantee that the person on the other end does “see” that smile through your conversation. This is true as well when you write. If you smile when you write your copy it will translate into the words you are writing, so the message reaches your readers with the same enthusiasm. Hard to believe, but it’s true.

Enthusiasm is Contagious:

Have you noticed that when you carry enthusiasm in your message the response you get from your listener is enthusiastic? That’s because enthusiasm is contagious. The words you say are so full of energy and belief that your listener or reader perceives these feelings from you. He or she is automatically drawn to you and wants to listen closely because he or she believes what you say.

Enthusiasm is Positive Energy:

Have you noticed that when you are enthusiastic you glow with positivism? That’s because enthusiasm is a feeling full of positive energy. There is nothing negative about being enthusiastic. Positive energy attracts positive results (Law of Attraction). People can’t help but to respond positively to your words. They accept what you are saying with much more confidence. They allow you to lead them.

Enthusiasm is KLT:

What is KLT? Know, Like and Trust. When people are caught or engaged in your conversation, they start to know you. As they know you, they start to like you and finally your positive energy will give them the trust they need to continue listening and following you. You are now the expert. They want to hear more from you.

Enthusiasm is a Money Maker:

I guess by now you know why Enthusiasm is a Money Maker, right? When people Know, Like and Trust you they have no problem in hiring your services or buying your products. Your enthusiasm has created this path. Don’t expect it to happen immediately. Some people need more time and information than others to finally get to know, like and trust you. Just be persistent with enthusiasm!

Love what you do and do what you love, it really pays off!
